The Mahar Wedding | A Sentimental Blend of Tradition + Intimacy

Meredith and Sean’s day was the perfect mix of a traditional Catholic wedding and an intimate elopement-style celebration with only their closest people present — and let me tell you, it was absolutely beautiful from start to finish.

Meredith and I had spent so much time connecting in the months leading up to the wedding that by the time the big day arrived, I didn’t just feel like a photographer — I felt like a close friend capturing something deeply personal and sacred. I knew what mattered most to her, what made her light up, and how deeply special her bond with Sean was. That kind of connection made photographing their wedding feel like second nature… even though I was pushing through a brutal case of the flu (oh, and I had just found out I was pregnant with baby #3 — surprise!).

Despite all that, I genuinely believe some of my favorite wedding images ever came out of this day. Maybe I was laser-focused from feeling so crummy, or maybe it's just that I’ve grown so much as an artist — either way, this gallery feels extra special. Meredith and Sean trusted me with creative freedom, gave plenty of time for portraits, and were fully down to explore a few new creative ideas with me. That kind of openness always results in something truly unique.

From dreamy flat lays during getting ready, to a ceremony overflowing with love and emotion, to an intimate brunch with heartfelt speeches and champagne (them, not me — I was on baby duty!), every part of their day felt full of intention and heart. I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.
