Colleen and Steve’s wedding was the perfect blend of tradition and laid-back flexibility (thank you, New England rain for keeping us on our toes!). Held at the breathtaking Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough, NH, their day felt like something out of a fairytale — with a castle as their backdrop, you couldn’t dream up a more magical setting.

These two are extra special to me. I first met them when I photographed Steve’s proposal to Colleen, then we celebrated their love again during their save-the-date session. By the time their wedding day rolled around, they weren’t just another couple I was photographing — they had become true friends to both me and my husband, all thanks to this business of mine. Documenting this milestone in their story felt deeply personal.

Oh, and did I mention I was 30+ weeks pregnant? Very, very bumpin’, but having the absolute best time. Honestly, I think being in that season of life made me even more aware of the beauty in capturing love stories that are only just the beginning of their next chapter.

Colleen and Steve gave me complete creative freedom — no shot list, no hovering, just full trust that I would capture their day exactly as they deserved. That trust let me lean fully into creativity. A standout for me? Their rings displayed on the strap of her shoe — simple, but striking, and one of my favorite little details I’ve ever captured.

While every part of their wedding was beautiful, my favorite moments came during portraits right after the ceremony. The mix of misty weather, the castle grounds, and their joy spilling over made for images that feel like pure magic.

Getting to capture their story in such an unreal venue was definitely a “pinch me, I can’t believe this is my job” moment. Colleen and Steve, thank you for trusting me with your memories — I’ll always hold this one close.
